What makes an airline great?

There are few but very important things that make a difference between a good and a great airline. A co-passenger asked me what my top three are as we flew in to Zürich on Monday:

a) a smooth, friendly, quiet and structured boarding process makes a huge difference. Smooth boarding leads to more relaxed passengers and the chances of making the departure slot and therefore being punctual are much bigger

b) customer-oriented open communication from the pilots and cabin crew, especially when things are not going as planned

c) friendly and good humored cabin crew who enjoy what they are doing or act as if they do :)

My favorite restaurants in Chiang Mai

If you ever visit Chiang Mai in northern Thailand do check out my favorite top 3 restaurants:
1) The Wok Restaurant
The showcase for the Chiang Mai Thai Cookery School, this is some of the best food in town.
44 Ratchamankha Rd.
Tel: +66 (0)5 320 8281
2) The Whole Earth
Upscale restaurant that goes easy on the spice.
88 Sri Donchai Rd.
Tel: +66 (0)5 328 2463
3) Cafe Mini
Thai/Italian Fusion
Nimmenhaemin Road Soi 7
The food is incredible in Chiang Mai. A simple vietnamese dish at the food stall next to Kantary Hill on Nimmenhaemin cost 25 Baht (-.60cents).
